On January 5th, a happy family was simply returning home.
An ordinary journey, which should have ended with a door opening, coats being dropped off, and a lovely end to the evening in their comforting family home.
But on that road, just minutes from the finish line, a terrible accident occurred. In a matter of seconds, everything changed.
Two beautiful little girls, 5 months and 6 years old, two little gems, left us far too soon.
Two sisters, two lights, two beloved presences, torn from life.
There are no words strong enough to describe the pain of losing one’s children, nor the deafening silence they leave behind.
Their two loving parents, Gabrielle and Jean-Mathieu, survived and remain hospitalized, seriously injured. Their bodies bear the scars of the accident, but their hearts carry an infinitely greater pain. They now awaken to a world where their beloved daughters are no longer there, and where every breath requires immense courage.
You don’t “get through” an ordeal like this.
We learn, slowly and painfully, to live with it.
