It is with profound sadness and deep sorrow that we remember and honor the life of Todd Spurgeon, a beloved husband, father, friend, and Vice President of KWC Bassmasters. Todd’s passing has left a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, and we find ourselves struggling to find the right words to express the impact he had on our lives. He was more than just an incredible angler—he was a constant source of kindness, support, and encouragement to those around him.
As one of the founding members of KWC Bassmasters, Todd’s contributions were immeasurable. His passion for the club and the sport of fishing was evident in everything he did. But beyond his talent as an angler, it was Todd’s character that truly set him apart. He was one of the kindest, most genuine people anyone could have the pleasure of meeting. Whether on the water or off, he always had time for others, offering wisdom, guidance, or simply a listening ear. His ability to find the silver lining in any situation was something that inspired us all.
Todd was a mentor, a friend, and a trusted confidant. He always had an encouraging word for others, and his willingness to help—whether it was offering fishing tips or simply being there for someone in need—was unparalleled. His commitment to the club, to the members, and to the friendships he fostered within the KWC community is something we will never forget.
Todd’s greatest love, however, was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer, and his daughter, Jessica. To them, we extend our deepest condolences. Our hearts break for you, and we hope you can find comfort in knowing that Todd was not only cherished by his family but by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a true family man, and his love for Jennifer and Jessica was always clear.
To honor Todd’s memory, his family has arranged a celebration of his life at the Cambridge Newfoundland Club on Sunday, February 1st, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This will be an opportunity for us to come together, share stories, and remember the incredible man Todd was.
